Apple Mac Pro A1186 Service Manual

broken image

Hi macpro community.

Browse Apple Mac Pro A1186 Desktop tips, tricks, do it yourself (DIY) projects and how-to instructions to find fast, free & easy fixes. There's a second screw on my 3,1 2008 8x2.8: at the very bottom of the fan unit at the corner nearest the heart shield. Easy to remove, difficult to put back, but once it and the black one on the board are out it's super easy.

I own a Macpro model A1186, 2.1, EFI 32.

What i try to do is upgrading this Macpro to early 2008 macpro 3.1, EFI 64, replacing the logicboard (because i need EFI 64 for newer video card)

i bought a logicboard, ref 630-7997,compatible with A1186 model, and 2 processors (X5472, SLASA, 3 Ghz, quad core)

I reuse the components of my older macpro (heatsink, memory, ..)

I know that my older memory are 667Mhz and Macpro 3.1 memory will be 800 Mhz, but at least,as it was wrttten in the macpro early 2008 service manual - page 153, if it don't work, i will see blinking white led on front panel.

Apple Mac Pro A1186 Service Manual 2017

Power-On Self Test: RAM and Processor Verification

A power-on self test in the computer's ROM automatically runs whenever the computer is started up after being fully shut down (the test does not run if the computer is only restarted). If the test detects a problem, the status LED located above the power button on the front of the computer will flash in the following ways*:

Radar. Ver-mac pcms 1210 user manual. Battery charger.

  • 1 Flash: No RAM is installed or detected. Or, the quick memory test failed. An LED will light up on the memory riser card next to the affected DIMM or empty DIMM slot.
  • 3 Flashes: A RAM bank failed extended memory testing. An LED will light up on the memory riser card corresponding to the affected DIMM.

Troubleshooting: Try reseating the memory DIMMs. Check memory installation instructions for proper installation order. Swap affected DIMM with known good DIMM.

what i obtain now, after re plugging everything :

Apple mac pro a 1186 spec

When i try to start the modified macpro, it start and stop in half a second (2 fast little clic).

When I push the diag_led button, only the led 2 (trickle power) light up.

I try replacing the PSU, but same result (2 fast clic and no power on)

Any help will be appreciated. Uninstall code composer studio mac manual.

Regards.
